Before the NEET, there used to be 90 different examinations for taking admission in medical courses in India. AIPMT was administered by CBSE. Due to which there was a lot of preparation pressure on each student.Whereas along with every exam, there was a lot of expense to apply for application fees and entrance tests.NEET exam was introduced to remove this financial burden and prevent wasting of time.

NEET replaced AIPMT and State Level CET like Delhi -PMT, MHCET, RPMT, AEMCET.

Its Eligibillity:-

It is a single-stage exam and it is offline. In the coming years, the exam will be offline or online, it is not decided yet. It is also possible that the next NEET should be twice a year instead of once. The duration of this exam is 3 hours. It has objective type questions and negative marking. To sit in this exam, 12th should be subject to Physics, Chemistry, Biology / Bio-Technology, and this exam consists of questions of Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (Botany, Zoology) subject.

The age of the candidate for this exam should be at least 17 years while there is no upper age limit for this exam. To qualify in this exam, a candidate from the Unreserved category is required to bring a minimum of 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology subject in class 12th, whereas for OBC, SC, and ST candidates it is 40%.
